The Proposal

I missed a call from Addison this morning because I was getting ready to enter the exam hall and I replied to him that my paper was about to begin and switched it off. Corporate Finance was easier than expected. Tor said she will score at least 90% on it!!!

As I was walking to the MRT with Tor and Chris, Dom told me it was announced that No Doubt is the latest band to be added to the lineup of performers for F1 Rocks, and just as I turned on my phone and read Addison's text saying "to phone him IMMEDIATELY". But oh shit, I knew what he was so eager to tell me already! I felt that that was such a nice gesture so thanks ATW!

Had lunch with Tor at the Cathay and caught the Proposal. It was really a fun and romantic comedy. Loved every moment of the film. The crowd in the theatre were literally laughing their assess off! Had a meeting with "the agent" at home after the movie. More details on this to come soon!

This has been an amazing day. A great exam, great news and a great surprise to come! Lunch with Addison at town tomorrow.

Microsoft Is Racist?

This is funny. Microsoft just released two different posters, a US version and a Polish version. The US picture has a White female, a Black man and an Asian man. Just take a look at what they altered in the the Polish version, they photoshopped the head of the black man and replaced it with a white man! You would think a big name like Microsoft would be more careful than to allow something like this from taking place. It goes to show nobody can be perfect. The company has already apologized for this tragic incident and have removed the picture. You can read the full article here for more details and another scandal in this photo!

Exam Fever

I am now in the examination period which will last until September 4. I sat for the Credit Risk paper today where we are somewhat in the shoes of a loan officer and we are taught how to determine if it is acceptable or not to grant a loan to firms or individuals. The paper seemed alright, and I am pretty optimistic about getting a good grade for it. At least that's one down and well three more to go.

The next few ones will be tougher so I'll probably have to work doubly hard. I have been procrastinating a lot because of technology and it's oh so many platforms like Twitter, FaceBook and spent some time coming up with post-exam plans. Will update more on that soon! Here's a picture of my study area too. Just look at all those notes! Also, my laptop beside me for whenever I feel like taking a break or Googling an answer that I can't find in the text book. However, I eventually start watching videos on YouTube or programmes like Weeds which is my current favourite. Need to get the rest from Addison. 1 week to go to freedom! Potest Qui Vult!

No Doubt Meets The Simpsons

I found this screenshot of an episode of The Simpsons which featured No Doubt. This is very old school as you can see. The band members beginning from the left are Gwen, Tom, Tony and Adrian. I wonder what is happening in the scene.. Hmm..

The Global Gentleman

I have decided to enter a GQ cum The Global Gentleman competition which involves submitting a photo and elaborating on it. For example which country it was taken in, events that occurred and all. After much thought, I picked the photo above which will be accompanied by the write up below:

This photo was taken in March at Easter last year in Los Angeles. My cousin Briana and I brought her daughter Haley (the baby in the photo) to an Easter egg hunt. She had just learned to walk at the time, we ran around the compound with Haley to look for the Easter Eggs. After the egg hunt we brought Haley to the arts and crafts section where she made her first masterpiece by coloring some pictures. The activities organized were a great way for families to spend the afternoon and bond.
.
I'm going to submit this soon! The prize is so fantastic. But what are the chances of winning out of the thousands of people.

Bad Day

If you think you're having a bad day, think again!

A man in Florida was arrested because what was actually breath mints was somehow mistaken for crack by the cop. Since the officer didn't believe him, he put the man behind bars for 3 whole months until the results came out and proved that there were no drugs indeed. The officer claimed that it was tested positive before, which is obviously false. For crying out loud, this man lost his apartment, his car and job! He deserves some compensation for the very least!

No Doubt, About It

No Doubt embarked on their comeback tour in May 2009. 3 months later and the tour has officially come to an end with their last show played in Hawaii. It has been five years since their last tour in 2004 while promoting their Greatest Hits album. I have been wistfully planning everyday about attending their concert and trying to work around my schedule.

I was considering attending the Los Angeles or Las Vegas show but well maybe next year. It was incredible seeing them live again at sold-out venues performing all their classic hits without any new material. The energy this band provides to everyone, you can't help but feel ecstatic and want to jump and sing along. Plus, this is the feeling I receive just by watching their videos, imagine being there live. Just judging from the concept of the tour to the props and the outfits of each band member and also viewing the pictures, videos and comments online, it was without a doubt a mind-blowing, and out-of-this-world show No Doubt put up.

To top it off, Gwen invited fans on stage to take pictures with her at every venue. These people got to impress her by showing off their Gwen impersonations and even tatoos of her on their bodies!

For those of you who do not know by now, I have been supporting No Doubt since 1996 and I am absolutely inspired by their originality, geniality and passion. Gwen Stefani is one hot mama who seems to be able to juggle everything in her life so perfectly from singing to writing songs, designing for her clothing line, LAMB, acting and even taking care of her two sons and husband, who seems to be in more scandals than her every time. What a life?!

With the end of the tour, I am eagerly anticipating their next album which is scheduled to be released sometime in 2010.

Addison's Addi-tude

This short film I made which is titled, "Addison's Additude", was my gift to Addi on his 21st Birthday, 3 months ago. The actual film is 30 minutes long, thus I have uploaded only one out of five parts of the entire video, which is the Christina Aguilera segment. This was my first time undertaking such a huge video project and I am really proud of how it turned out which is why I have decided to post this entry. Furthermore, it reflects and captures Addison's growing up, personality and his incredible friends and family. I'll probably upload the entire film on YouTube sometime soon.

Slam & Bomb

Decided to party for just one more night before getting serious and hitting the books to study for the exams starting on Aug 24.

Anyway, together with Addison, Corey, Debbie and Alastair, we headed down to Rebel to finish the bottle of Chivas we had gotten the last time there on Cassie's birthday. The music was much better than before. There was Jager bomb and tequila slams everywhere just as Deb and I had planned the night to be. Cor thought he would have to carry us home after having one too many to consume. Dance. Drinks and Dares. Overall, the night was WICKED, extremely.

Save Our Planet

Pearl said over lunch on Wednesday that she was considering becoming Vegetarian. I stopped and stared over at her t-shirt and her lunch (Chicken rice, by the way) and looked to her and said,"Right, no wonder you have meat written all over you!" If that's what it takes to be vegetarian, then hell yeah sign me up. If only I had a fairly reasonable weight, I wouldn't mind being Vegetarian too.
.
Which reminds me of a game we played in school today over lunch. It was simply, "Guess the Weight?" of each of our classmates. I was taken aback when everyone thought I was 60Kg or above. It didn't come across to any of them that I could weigh 55Kg or below. This feels awesome for some reason!
.
All these thoughts and talk on weight and vegetarianism got me researching and I found some pictures of celebrities that posed nude for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) to save our planet and to protect animal rights such as from being skinned for their fur. I wonder if they really did it for the environment or just the chance to pose nude without being judged. Oh well, but I love them all and what they did have really benefited society and made a change in many people's lives. Above is one example of a vegetarian celebrity using her status to help save the World, Alicia Silverstone.

The Bumper Car

I recently did a quiz on facebook titled, "What's your Dating Personality?" As recommended by some friends who took it and thought it was pretty spot on. And my result was, The Bumper Car. It continues to say as follows:

Innocent. Loving. Indulgent. Spontaneous.

You're brash, passionate and magnetic. You're a carefree individual who doesn't lead a particularly structured life. It's likely that you're still trying to figure out exactly what you want to be when you "grow up".

Sometimes you don't consider the consequences of your actions carefully enough and you end up causing bad things to happen to the women who love you. You generally mean well, but you don't necessarily have the fortitude to stick things out enough to make them work.

Despite all this your spontaneous attitude makes you a lot of fun and people enjoy being around you.

National Day Weekend

This long weekend was dedicated to taking time off my school projects and to let my hair down. I can't say I've been the most hard working student, but I have been trying to fulfill my duties as one.

Back to the point, Butter factory shifted it's premises to near the Esplanade and I have yet to party there since it opened a few months ago. Gavin invited us there, and Debbie was enthusiastic about coming too so I called her along. She's had a 7 or 8 week party streak as of Saturday, kudos to you! Anyway, Butter was a blast, we hardly drank but the music and crowd were good. Deb and I shifted from Hash to Bump since we preferred the RnB music there and as the name speaks for itself, we did bump into so many friends and people while dancing and chilling at the bar. Mel joined us afterwards too. It was a great night with great company.

I managed to wake up at 10am on Sunday and went for the 1115am Mass at Holy Family. Met my Godfather, Bro Nicholas there and we had lunch. It has been a long time since we really talked and caught up with what's going on in our lives. Met Toria at the Airport afterwards to study and we travelled together to Dom's house for his National Day Party. Good wine, good games and an awesome night again!

A Series of Fortunate Events

Sienna Miller in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Friday was a good turn of events though Rebel and Poker were out. The morning was a bit ugly due to some complications and misunderstandings with C but most of it has already been settled I think. After which I began to brainstorm for ideas and managed to complete the role-play synopsis for a class presentation this coming Tuesday. I'm supposed to be a Production Manager of a company providing metal spare parts. Since I've had experience in holding a meeting before this test should go well. Took a walk to Church afterwards for Mass and to just clear my head. Yesterday's weather wasn't that bad after all.
.
Met Deb at Raffles for dinner at the Pizza Place. She had never been there before so she had to try their Pizza. Finally, we went down to Plaza Sing to catch G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. I remember watching the cartoon series when I was just a child. The movie is the best new release I've seen so far. There is everything you would look for in a movie; the action, adventure, romance, humour, etc. I highly recommend it. Plus, Sienna Miller looks fantastic in the movie, I think it had something to do with the dark hair, I've never liked her even more. In my opinion, she seriously stole the show. 4 Stars for its awesomeness!

A Time Lost, But Not Forgotten

This video is an advertisement I made for my final year project in school. I googled most of the images found in the video. The restaurant is fictitious. Thought I share the video online. Hope you like it. Special thanks to Addison for helping with much of the photoshop work.

Don't Get It Twisted

The past 2 weeks have been so hectic working on projects after projects. Still hanging in there somehow. Met Pearl for lunch in school today after Investment tutorial and she accompanied me to class to hand over my assignments. We got to talking about her 20th Birthday and the possibility of hosting it at my house which will be great. Wherever it is, I'm sure we will have a great party for you Dora!

Business development presentation tomorrow, a very major project. I'm hoping after this presentation, school won't be so hectic as it is. And following that swimming and dinner with Corey after school. Need to get out and free my mind after being stuck in front of the laptop till 4 in the morning every night.

National Day is around the corner and I've got the whole weekend plan. It's going to be a great week and an even longer weekend!
