I'm Out Of Time! (Quarters, Calls, Begging, $500?)

A long journey it has been indeed but the road stops somewhere and alas I made it to my final destination after 1 half or 2 days tops. The trip was an unimaginable one to all of you if you have not been by this route.

I experienced the hard life in a New York JFK episode filled with Anger; Sadness; Uncertainty; Regrets and Fellowship with a pinch of Peace at last. Sometimes I feel it's all a test. A test to learn to have patience, some faith and fun. A test to avoid over-thinking and doing anything rash in the midst of a hazy mind.

When we feel that we're out of time and life isn't going as it should be, that's the sign to calm down and not do anything rash because we may end up saying or thinking it to ourselves, "SHOOT!!!" or "FUCK!!!" or "DAMN!!!".

"Why am I so curious? This territory is dangerous! I'll probably end up at the start. I'll be back in line with my broken heart."

Leaving On A Jet Plane

All my bags are packed I'm ready to go
I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin' it's early morn
The taxi's waitin' he's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Are You Living A Routine?

R-O-U-T-I-N-E, does this word sound familiar? Has it caught you without your realization.

Recently, a friend and I had planned to go out and I suggested doing something more mellow and different from the norm. I had thought it was a nice idea. Surprisingly, my close friend did not agree and opted to doing something which we always do whenever we go out. As for myself, whenever I travel overseas my friends and family can guess the country without me even saying it.

We may go out with different people and even travel to different places, yet it's somehow still so the same. Is change really that difficult? Without realizing it but do all of us have a common routine we adhere to everyday and possibly for most of our lives and will it even continue to rule our lives in the future?

Recently to break this habit, I've adopted some new traits like rising earlier, modifying my diet, trying new things and such. Let's see if there's any difference, never stop trying!

The End Where We Began

Last night, my class of '06 from St Pat's gathered for a one night only class gathering/ reunion. Three of our favourite teachers took the time to join us too which was just incredible. We had a very creamy filling dinner at Pasta Fresca, Siglap. The night was still early by the time dinner was over and so we moved over to Chevys at Katong Village for some drinks and entertainment. It's not everyday you get to drink with your old high school mates and teachers so this opportunity came at a nice time when most of us have graduated the polytechnic and moving on to national service. Here are some photos from the gathering.

St Pat's Junkie!

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone! I studied in St Pat's from 2002-2006 and it was in this school that I found love and life among the people I was in contact with in class or my CCA's.

Studying in a mission school, there are so many values and virtues that are instilled into the students and I grew into my teenage years learning and practicing some of these virtues like Humanity, Humility and Honesty.

Hence, this entry is dedicated to those years and it gives a flashback into a previous chapter of a part of my life that I will always remember.

Whether it was the whimsical behaviour of my classmates to learning servant leadership by going out and helping the poor to talking and creating a mess in the classroom to leading the morning assembly prayer and learning what it means to be a Catholic to performing plays, songs, etc on stage and the list goes on and on.

It was definitely one of the best times in most of our lives that we lived as Patricians!

A Bingo Birthday Bash

The weekends are what we all look forward to and this one on no exception especially for Mr Oliveiro who turned 21! To mark the occassion, we celebrated Corey's 21st birthday on Saturday at Taboo and Sunday at his home.

We were given the entire attic on the third floor of Taboo to use at our discretion for the whole night! It was massive and we had more than enough room to create our own dancefloor up there which we maximised to our utmost benefit and had the most fun and a crazy wicked time of our lives! At one point, I remember we were all singing and using hand movements simultaneously to the lyrics of "My Heart Will Go On".. Near... Far! It was really hilarious, wish I had recorded it on video!

At midnight, we surprised the birthday boy with my usual Oreo cheesecake and a Flaming Lamborghini.

After the minimal amount of sleep from the party, we moved on to Cor's house the following day for part two of the celebrations. Doubt I could have partied some more after Zouk on Friday and Taboo on Saturday. Thankfully, the house party was a more mellow one. We played some Bingo, did some catching up with friends and had a scrumptious dinner.

Three Girls, A Guy, And A Dancefloor

My original plan was to return home from dinner and have a mellow evening at home with my movie, wine and me. In the end with much convincing, I agreed to club at Zouk. I went to pick Pearl and some friends up from Prom first which I had decided not to attend this year and then headed to Zouk to meet Tor and Ver. Haven't been to Zouk in a while so I must say that it could have been more fun if not for the packed dancefloor where it was near impossible to move anywhere. Here are some photos from what went down last night.

It's In Your Eyes

I did something crazy by accident. It could have been worse though. But hey, what's new?

Then I woke up and thought it was nothing but just a dream. I proceeded to wash my face and looked in the mirror. It was there, and I stared back at it and it was real.

The eyes say it all. The Face has it written down all over. Not just a dream anymore, not just a nightmare too, but a living figment of what I thought was my imagination.

When we all do something we wish we hadn't, I suppose it's only normal to rise in the morning with an open mind. An optimistic outlook on your day and hope and question if it was all just a dream.

Life isn't that simple and it's better to face reality. Our flaws, imperfections, strengths, ambitions. The faster we come to terms with the truth and what's real. The easier it is to move on. The better life becomes.

Take Home Dinner

In Christmas of 2007, I went to my Aunt's house to bake cookies for my friends as Christmas treats for them. I put some cookies in complemented them with chocolates and wrapped them up into a nice Christmas package. Then sometime last year, I made lunch at home because I was too tired to go outside.

That feeling everytime I had baked or cooked felt so invigorating that I had vowed to learn how to cook and be better in the kitchen. I think to Addison that already sounds like a broken record. That's why when I got the call from Tor and Ver about cooking dinner last night rather than going out, I knew it was a great idea and was gonna be lots of fun.

After buying all the ingredients from the supermarket, we drove back to my house and cooked the meal. Last night's Menu; Clam Chowder Soup, Spaghetti Bolognese, Gourmet Black Pepper Chicken Sausages and Mashed potatoes. A feast indeed!

The girls did a pretty good job with most of the work and I assisted here and there wherever help was needed! Dinner was very fulfilling and tasted just as good as any Spaghetti Bolognese I've tasted at a restsurant as far, maybe even better ;)
